Great Victorian tile that is applied like wallpapers as it is a wallpaper! This particular paper flooring is approximately 18" x 11-1/2". In "real life", encaustic tile was popular during the Victorian times thru the 1940s. Before Victorian times encaustic tiles were used, but were more commonly called "inlaid tiles". The difference is that encaustic tiles are clays of different colors put together to create the design in the tile (so if the tile chipped you still saw the color) as opposed to the design being painted on before glazing the tile.
